Media Skills Training
Every encounter with the media is an opportunity for executives to communicate a company’s goals, vision and direction. From traditional media vehicles like TV, print and radio, to new outlets like blogs, online magazines and podcasts, knowing how to prepare and guide an interview is an increasingly important skill.
Regardless of the medium, a good interview depends on several key elements. During SNP’s interactive Media Skills Program, participants learn the skills necessary to build their credibility and confidence when dealing with the press and bloggers.
SNP’s Media Skills Program curriculum consists of the following elements:
- Preparation: Identifying the different types of questions you may be asked – from the ones you hate to the ones you’d love to answer – is part of the process.
- Physical Skill Set: Eye contact, energy and gestures, translate into a person’s personal delivery style and are tied directly to intangible characteristics such as credibility and confidence.
- Knowing How to Guide the Interview: The ability to guide an interview can be the difference between getting quoted and getting edited out of the story.
