Going Virtual
By Renn Vara
Our business continues to evolve. We’ve grown from doing TalkRadio’s with sales leaders to motion video webevents, from presentation content development and skills training to the roll-out of social networks. To us, content, training on that content, and then effectively and consistently communicating that content require a singular vision and implementation. Now we’re taking this process virtual.
In recent years, our customers have asked us to do something we never envisioned. They asked us to teach their teams how we do what we do. We’re not just talking content development, skills building, or production services. No, they wanted us to teach their teams how we think, how we serve, how we manage, and how we establish a consistent values system within our own organization. It seems they not only respected our products and services but even more so, they were impressed with who we are. That blew us away.
This evolved into an extensive 1on1 coaching service that almost every SNPer delivers. Each of us now works with anywhere from 5-15 corporate managers on a monthly basis. This 1on1 coaching is generally face-to-face conducted in one hour weekly sessions. With our customers in Europe and
Now don’t get me wrong. We still do tons of skills training, content development and produce communication tools and processes. These 1on1s are just thrown on top. It fits my belief system of “you can’t teach if you don’t do what you teach.” Sales for example. If you don’t actively sell, you can’t truly teach sales training effectively. My bias.
Well, now we’re going virtual. Sort of. Starting this month, SNP is launching 1on1 coaching and training via teleconferencing. I know many companies have been doing this for some time and we have too using our customer’s internal systems. But now we can do teleconferencing from our own office. We’re excited about this new capability because like everything else we do; it will evolve into something we don’t currently expect. Kind of like your own business and life.
No doubt, what we learn from doing these virtual 1on1s will become curriculum in our overall products and services. Such is the world we live in. Thanks for being a part of it.
