SNP Launches Blogs Targeting Corporate Communicators

May 4, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO – SNP Communications has launched a series of blogs for corporate communicators. With recent studies stating that social media can impact the bottom line, SNP’s blogs are dedicated to giving executive communicators an opportunity to learn, give advice and even share ideas from their own experiences.

"The question is no longer whether or not social media is valuable –the question is how to create that value. Our blogs give corporate communicators the opportunity to share opinions, experiences and advice, and bring value," says Renn Vara, co-founder and CIO for SNP Communications.

The SNP Blog and Podcast features active blogs as well as periodic advice:

  • "Comm Tips": a one or two line tip on practical, but commonly overlooked, communications skills from the CEO of SNP Communications, Maureen Taylor
  • "MoreThanTalk": a blog with a series of interviews that gives ideas on how to improve your communications efforts
  • "Web 2.0 Tactics": strategies, developments and real-life uses of blogs, podcasts, vidcasts, wikis, forums and social media.

According to Vara, "The challenge we communicator’s face is how to cut through the clutter and focus on results . The purpose of SNP’s blogs and podcast is like the wiki, in that it utilizes the strength of collective ideas and experiences. We expect this pool of wisdom to improve performance of corporate communicators and ultimately, the bottom line."

To stay on top of the changing communication mediums, SNP is also installing their latest blog, "Digital Natives": a video blog discussing the use, pitfalls, and benefits of the latest innovative Applications. The blog is expected to be available for users.

In addition, SNP is also establishing "SNP Unplugged" – a blog about themselves. This blog will feature the uncandid opinions of SNP employees on everything– from who left the dirty dishes in the sink to communication tips they teach their clients.
